15 Minute Grilled Lamb and Special Sauce


A quick and easy meal that the whole family loves


  • 6 slices lamb rump
  • 1 tbsp favourite spice blend – garam masala or a Mediterranean blend works well.
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Optional dressing of chopped fresh red chilli, parsley, lemon juice and olive oil
  • Sliced tomatoes, cucumber ribbons and fresh rocket or spinach to serve
  • Rice mountain bread

Special Tzatziki Sauce

  • 500g plain yoghurt
  • 1 bunch dill
  • 1 lemon, juiced, to taste
  • Small splash white wine or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber (seeds removed)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp coriander Powders
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil and paprika to dress



  1. Preheat grill or BBQ
  2. Coat rump in spice blend and oil
  3. Arrange in one layer on a baking tray
  4. Grill until golden on each side
  5. Rest for a few minutes and then slice into strips


  1. Cut cucumber in half and remove the seeds with a teaspoon
  2. Add all ingredients to a good processor (do not use a blender) and process until smooth
  3. Taste and adjust seasonings to your preference
  4. Serve in a bowl drizzled with oil and sprinkled with paprika

Optional Dressing

  • Dice red chilli and parsley, and combine with the juice of 1/2 lemon and 1 tbsp olive oil, then dress the lamb
